Derma Fillers

Facial harmonization:
balance, highlight and naturalness

This is a set of non-surgical techniques, such as hyaluronic acid fillers, collagen biostimulators and botulinum toxin injections, among others. These procedures are strategically combined, based on an individual analysis of the face, to improve the balance between volume, shape and proportions. Each face is unique, so harmonization is completely personalized. The treatment plan is drawn up in such a way as to respect the anatomy, aesthetic objectives and specific characteristics of each patient.

When it comes to facial aesthetics, one of the key pillars for achieving a natural and harmonious result is the analysis of facial proportions — both horizontally and vertically. This detailed assessment allows us to identify areas of imbalance that may benefit from correction during treatment.

Vertical proportion
In vertical analysis, the face is divided into three thirds:

  • Upper third – from the hairline to the eyebrows;

  • Middle third – from the eyebrows to the base of the nose;

  • Lower third – from the base of the nose to the chin.

Ideally, these three segments should have similar proportions. When one is disproportionate — for example, a recessed chin shortening the lower third — facial balance is affected. In such cases, treatment with fillers, biostimulators, or other techniques may be recommended to restore symmetry and harmony.

Horizontal proportion
In horizontal analysis, we look at the symmetry between both sides of the face, eye alignment, cheekbone contour, and the width of the nose and mouth. Small asymmetries are common and natural, but more pronounced imbalances can impact the overall aesthetics of the face.

Based on this evaluation, we can plan personalised treatments such as:

  • Facial harmonisation with hyaluronic acid to enhance facial contours;

  • Volume correction in specific areas;

  • Collagen stimulation to improve skin structure and firmness.

Botulinum Toxin:
preventive and corrective treatment for wrinkles

Over time, with the constant repetition of facial movements — such as smiling, frowning or squinting — the muscles in the face continually contract, giving rise to so-called dynamic wrinkles or expression lines. These are the lines that appear, for example, on the forehead, between the eyebrows or in the corners of the eyes (the so-called “crow’s feet”).

The role of acetylcholine

Muscle contraction is controlled by nerve impulses, mediated by a substance called acetylcholine. This is released at the junctions between nerves and muscles, acting as a messenger that “tells” the muscle to contract. When these muscles are used repeatedly, wrinkles form and, over time, become visible even when the face is at rest.

What does Botulinum Toxin (Botox) do?

Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the release of acetylcholine. By preventing the muscle from receiving the signal to contract, we are able to relax the muscles responsible for wrinkles in a controlled manner. As a result:

  • Existing wrinkles are smoothed out;

  • New marks are prevented as the muscles become less active;

  • The skin acquires a more rested and rejuvenated appearance.

It is important to highlight that the effect is localized and controlled: only the muscles treated are affected, preserving the natural expressions of the face when the treatment is well planned and executed.

Dermal fillers:

a modern alternative

_DSC3367.jpg

In recent years, temporary fillers have become one of the most sought-after techniques in aesthetic medicine. They offer a safe, effective, and minimally invasive alternative to surgical procedures, allowing correction and enhancement of various facial features without the need for incisions, general anaesthesia, or long recovery periods.

What are temporary fillers?
The most commonly used materials in temporary fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the human body and responsible for skin hydration and volume. As we age, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to loss of firmness, the appearance of folds, and reduced facial definition.

By applying these materials, we can restore volume, redefine contours, and improve skin texture — with immediate and natural results.

Which areas of the face can be treated?
Fillers can be applied to various regions of the face, including:

  • Cheekbones – to restore volume and lift facial features;

  • Under-eye area (tear troughs) – to reduce tired appearance and hollowing;

  • Nasolabial folds and marionette lines – to smooth deep wrinkles and creases;

  • Lips – to hydrate, define, or subtly enhance volume;

  • Jawline and chin – to redefine the lower facial contour.

Key benefits

  • Quick procedure (usually 20 to 40 minutes);

  • Immediate results, with further improvement over the following days;

  • No surgery or hospital stay required;

  • Minimal downtime — most patients resume normal activities the same day;

  • Natural-looking results when performed by qualified professionals.

A younger look, without exaggeration
The goal is not transformation, but to enhance natural beauty, correct signs of ageing, and restore facial proportions that have been lost over time. When well-planned, the treatment gives the face a more rested, harmonious, and rejuvenated appearance — without compromising facial expression.
